Dr. Charles F. Winkler, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr. Charles F. Winkler is a Muhlenburg County, Kentucky
native. He is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. In 1976, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine in Louisville and was elected Chief Resident of Medicine during his last year of training.
Dr. Winkler was awarded a grant for research and training in the field of hematology (blood disorders) and completed his oncology (cancer) training at the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. He was invited to join the faculty at the National Cancer Institute and Armed Forces Medical School. He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Winkler and his wife, Gloria, are the parents of two sons, Keith and Michael. Dr. Winkler is actively involved in his church, the American Cancer Society, and other community organizations. He enjoys fishing and hiking, and hopes to find time in the coming years to improve his computer skills.
Dr. William A. Conkright, M.D.
Dr. William A. Conkright, M.D. was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He went to school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He was a Junior Instructor in the Internal Medicine department at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Dr. Conkright practiced Internal Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, and Emergency Medicine in the Clinica La Floresta. Dr. Conkright also spent four months in the Venezuelan Amazons.
In 1997, Dr. Conkright left Venezuela seeking additional training in oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He was also heavily involved with clinical research. Once his residency was complete, Dr. Conkright spent two additional years training in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Conkright is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology. He resides in Paducah, and he and wife, Oly, have two sons, Juan Andres and Luis Felipe. Dr. Conkright enjoys home renovation and travel.
